That will not work. Verizon uses a completely different technology than AT&T. Verizon doesn’t use SIM cards. You can buy a brand new Go Phone at Wal-Mart or Target or Radio Shack for $ 19.99 right now – not expensive at all.

Question by happymommy: Would a Kroger prepaid calling card work with a Verizon cell phone?
One of my relatives sent me this calling card in the mail after I told him that I have very little Verizon minutes, and I just wondered if it would work with my Verizon cell phone (we don’t have a land line) or not.

On the back of the card it says to use it with a touch-tone phone (which I’m assuming means land line), but I can’t find any other info on it.

Most any calling card will work from a cell phone.
Problem is, even if the calling card has a free local area access number, or 1-800 access number, your cell phone will still charge you airtime for the connection. (unless you are already paying for unlimited airtime, or x number of free minutes/month).

But, yes a cell phone is the the same thing as a touch-tone phone. They send the same DTMF tones as a landline for dialing and vertical service signaling (* codes, etc).

Question by caramel: What kind of calling card should we buy for international use?
My boyfriend is going to be staying in Canada for two weeks.
He has Verizon; what kind of calling card should we buy for him to use
to call me in the U.S. while he is away?

Will he be billed for any international connection minutes from Verizon, even though he
will have a calling card?

Answer by Dilicious
No, you should not. You are using a 1-800 number if verizon looks at it. you should call them just to make sure. But you will see get billed for your min’s as you where calling any 1-800 number.
