Verizon phones don’t use SIM cards, sorry!

Question by Eric: Does using an international calling card on a Verizon Wireless phone save you money when calling from abroad?
Is it worth buying one? I plan on calling the United States from the Grand Cayman Islands and Jamaica, was just wondering if a calling card would save me money.

No, calling cards only save you money when you call from home. You will be paying roaming to use your phone in another country, same price, calling card or not. Call VZW and ask them what your options are.

Question by N1080: Can you access the internet wirelessly, everywhere, using a calling card in Europe?
I would like to be able to use the internet in Spain, wireless and everywhere, through a netbook or a blackberry. Do you need a special modem to do so? Can you do this through some sort of calling card? About what would it usually cost per hour to surf the web? How fast would it be, compared to cable wireless in the US? If yahoo answers allows, can you suggest any particular calling card or whatever?

Yes you can use a high speed card provided by a your cell phone provider. They generally connect though PCMCIA, USB, or PC express. Mine runs about $ 60 a month and can be used anywhere you get cell phone service. Some companies charge extra when out of the country based on your usage others allow you to pay a $ 20 +/- fee to have unlimited in another country. I know Verizon and AT&T are both good for this. Give one of them a call and they can help you iron out the details.

Question by britrob20: If I buy a Motorola Razr V3i can I get prepaid service simply by inserting a new Cingular Go Phone sim card ?
Both the phone and the sim card would be new, meaning I would purchase an unused sim card separately.
Is that possible? Could I just go online and activate the card?

Best answer:

Answer by Kainoa
If the RAZR is also a Cingular, then you should be able to swap out the SIM. The SIM is just a way to identify you on their network, so as long as it’s compatible with their network it doesn’t matter what phone it’s in. If it’s a Verizon phone you won’t be able to use it cause their network uses CDMA.

Question by PrettyNPurple: How can I get a sprint card u put in your computer and you get service wherever there is cell phone service
Also what is it called?

Best answer:

Answer by Jamie W
For sprint its called an aircard. Basically its a card that fits into your pci slot on your laptop and then works as a cellular modem for your computer. The speeds are not as high as regular high speed, and you usually have a limit the bandwidth. Saying all that, just go to sprint.com, or call them, and they can set you up. Be aware they run around 60 bucks a month for this service

Verizon, and ATT also offer similiar cellular modem cards, and the prices are about the same, so feel free to choose the best carrier for your convenience.
