They are both by the same carrier (T-Mobile). I own a pay as you go phone already and i wanted the Samsung gravity but it is a contract phone. Can I just buy the phone on amazon without the contract and insert my sim card into that phone?

Answer by Mike The only other phone company that uses sim cards is AT&T. It is possible to use your sim card with their phones, but you will have to have the phones unlocked. The phone being unlocked will allow you to use it on both T-Mobile and AT&T. Most phones you will need a unlock code, which you can buy off the internet for 5-20 dollars (depending on which phones you are using), but if you use the iPhone then it will be a easier and free unlock by just simply jailbreaking the phone and installing ultrasn0w.
