Question by zkdub: Can I use an international prepaid card on Verizon Wireless in the Bahamas to another international phone?
I’m going to Atlantis in the Bahamas over Spring Break, and planned on buying an international prepaid card for my Verizon cell phone. However, the person I’m planning on calling most is also going to be in an international zone (Mexico) and is planning on also using an international phone card for their Verizon cell phone.
I don’t know how Verizon’s phone cards work at all, so I guess my main question is; can we call eachother by using these cards? I’m worried that lets say, I can call them with the phone card, but they won’t receive the call through their phone card and will be charged with regular roaming charges, or vice versa.

I need to know what cell phone providers do not require SIM cards because I want a Blackberry and my cell phone provider is CricKet. They told me that if I can find a Blackberry phone that does not require a SIM card from any provider, that they can unlock the phone and set me up with service on the Blackberry. I need to know who requires a SIM card and who doesn’t. That way I can choose who I want to buy the phone from.

verizon wireless, alltel, sprint and cricket do not use sim cards they are CDMA

at&t, cingular, and tmobile are GSM and they DO use sim cards

Im just asking because i have no idea, and every time i call the verizon people the line is busy 0.o So if i buy a phone from ebay or something can i program it to be a prepaid phone (on the prepaid cards) instead of a plan?

1) It must be a verizon phone (or can be converted to Verizon service)

2) Not all Verizon phones can be used on prepaid plan
