Question by SimonTomato: If I purchase a prepaid phone card to call from Europe, can I still use the sim card from T-mobile?
I’m going to purchase this prepaid phone card: http://www.zaptel.com/zaptel/index.cfm?fuseaction=customer.product&product_code=ABSOLUTEWORLDCARD&from_country_id=208&from_country=Italy&to_country=USA%20-%2048%20States&to_country_id=1&conversation=5&MinuteRate=0.135&connect_fee=0&Denoms=-25
Do I need to get a sim card also? Will T-mobile charge me for calling from Europe? Or should I just use the hotel telephones?
Thanks!

NO T-mobile will not charge you if you purchase a calling card they will only charge you for the minutes you used while talking on the cell.

Question by Jessica: Does using a calling card cancel out charges for the person recieving the call, or just the caller?
If I’m recieving a long distance call, and the person calling uses a phone card to call, can I still be charged?
I plan on recieving calls from Ontario, Canada, to California. My phone plan is with AT&T/Cingular, if that matters.

you will be billed “airtime” or “minutes”, if your phone you’ll be receiving the call is on a cell phone. if it’s a land line, or something that does not charge per minute, then you won’t be billed for anything. other than that, you won’t incurr any long distance charges or anything. only the person making the phone call is responsible for “paying”.

Question by Tica: what international phone card allows to call from California without being overcharged if calling mobiles?
Best answer:
Answer by Heinz M
If you call ‘mobiles’ overseas you’ll always get screwed. ~
Try to call land lines only.
I have a VoIP phone with free calling to 21 countries. But to cells in those countries the charge can be over 30 Cents/min.

if you are concerned contact your credit card company by calling the number on the back of the card, or on your billing statement….
I found this http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-383-0618 about this number, it appears to be a scam…
