I have an AT&T Prepaid Phone Card where the first step says "1. To place a call within the U.S., dial 1888 XXX XXXX." My phone then says I cannot make these type of calls.
Oh this is at work.

Hacking Peek Service for True SMS

This is a tutorial on how to obtain true SMS abilities out of the Peek device. In order to do so, one needs: 1. Active Peek subscription (aka A working Peek device) 2. A T-Pin 3. Another GSM handset (in this case, a Sidekick 2008) 4. A friend’s phone to test Directions: 1. Remove the warranty label from the Peek device, enabling access to the T-Mobile SIM card hidden underneath. Use the T-Pin to help accomplish this. 2. Using the T-Pin, remove the SIM card from the Peek. 3. Insert the SIM into the Sidekick 2008, and boot the device. 4. When it says “Device Activating”, press MENU + L to bypass this screen. 5. Text messaging now works! Text your friend’s phone in order to figure out your Peek’s phone number. Keep in mind that MMS and Data will not work. And when the SIM is returned to the Peek device, it will still no longer receive text messages until once again installed in another phone.

Please Buy My iPhone 3G: www.youtube.com Just a little update video: I am back on AT&T’s Prepaid GoPhone plan and it works great! Also, if you have noticed, there is no carrier logo on the 3.1 firmware. To fix this, download “MakeItMine” for Cydia and follow my instructions towards the end of the video. Using Go Phone with iPhone Sim card

How to switch to a Go Phone from the iPhone using the sim card and your current plan.

Please PM me if you would like a Lockerz invite! I ordered an AT&T GoPhone 3G SIM Card off eBay and called AT&T to have them activate it. It took 10 minutes, then the lady gave me my number. I then went to Walgreens and bought a Pay As You Go card. I called 611 and got the .99 unlimited texting package. I am now using my iPhone 3G with a prepaid service. (PS- THE 3G SERVICE DOESN’T WORK FOR ME BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE 3G WHERE I LIVE, SO EVEN THOUGH IT’S A 3G SIM CARD, I UNFORTUNATELY HAVE TO USE EDGE, BUT IT’S NO BIG DEAL.)
